Travelling this season?

If you're planning a trip this season and you'll be away longer then a day or two, there are a few important tips that will help ensure everything is safe and sound while you're gone.

  • Have someone you trust check your house daily - inside and out. Not only will this give the impression someone is home, but it will also insure that any water damage such as water damage caused by frozen pipes will not only be covered, but will also be kept to a minimum.
  • Cancel your newspaper delivery and have someone collect the mail every day so there is no build-up, a sure sign to burglars that the occupants are away.
  • Put two or three lights on timers set to turn on and off at different times during the evening.
  • Ask a friend, or hire someone to keep the snow cleared from your driveway or have the lawn mowed once a week to give the impression of daily use.
